I had a really, really slow walk that I recorded with the Strava app and the distance and pace are very different. I’m sure the pace difference was because there was a lot of stopping and starting, but the distance is .5 miles vs 1.8 miles.
This is interesting. Strava provides a flag moving:true/false which we’ve been using to exclude paused periods during runs. However in your walk the flag is triggered dozens of times.
